Common Errors During Testing:
Troubleshooting Tips:
Q: "My video won't load for the test question"
A: With the assistance of the test proctor or documented technicians the students should log out of the test, reboot the computer, and log back into the test environment
Q: "I get the error.... and my computer tells me it will close out"
A: The system has detected that another application is trying to load while in the testing environment, you will have to close out of the test and restart the assessment. Previous test questions should be uploaded/saved to the testing server
Q: "I am an answering an open-ended question and pressing the keys on my keyboard but I can not type"
A: Click the Refresh Key on the open-ended question toolbar, this will reload the question
Q: "My headphones are too loud"
A: The PARCC assessment currently does not have built-in volume control in the majority of the testing area, so even if IT has enabled the controls of these devices, they may be disabled in the PARCC environment. NOTE: Video based questions will have built-in controls
Q: "I had to restart my test, but now the system will not let me log in"
A: The teacher (test proctor) must restart the test in the test management site
Q: "I accidentally cleared my typing in the open-ended/narrative question box"
A: Unfortunately there is no undo tool in the TestNav site, be very carefull not clear your answers. It may be a good idea to highlight your typed response and use the keyboard short cut (CTRL+C) to have your computer copy your typed text to memory after typing a long narrative response.
